You are a…

YOUTH: You’re in school, you love theatre, and you feel like people around you should be more passionate for theatre. You love performing, you think it's the most amazing thing ever; you love exploring the possibilities that you know theatre has- you want to find out more. Come join us every Tuesday night at the Old Museum. Meet people who are just as brilliant and as passionate as you are. Get a weekly boost of energy, focus and (of course) fun . Click hereto sign up.

PARENT: You see how brilliant your child is. You know how much they adore performanceand know that they can thrive if only you could find an environment that allows them to. You know that they would blossom from learning about the peak performance attitudethat’s necessary to become a great performing artist (actor, dancer, or physical theatre performer). You would love for them to develop skills such as physical fitness, energy, focus and confidence . Click here to sign them up.

Oh yes, for both YOUTHs and PARENTs, we also want to note that Youths who join still have a chance to join Creative Generation – an incredible annual stage spectacular in July that celebrates creativity and gets broadcast on Channel 10 around the country!  So don’t fret if you missed their deadline, because if you join YPAT we can choose performers straight from the weekly classes to be involved.

Lynne Bradley is taking PAT in 2012

Zen Zen Zo's popular Physical Actor Training has been running since 1996 and been the training ground for many of Brisbane’s best actors.  The classes are designed specifically to equip actors for high energy, physical performance and develop a powerful stage presence.  The primary inspiration for this training has come from the Suzuki Method of Actor Training(Suzuki Company of Toga, Japan) and the Viewpoints(SITI, New York). The result is a process that cultivates the performer's physical energy, vocal quality and range, concentration, ensemble awareness and imagination. Physical Actor Training takes the actor out of the realm of daily life movement and habits and into a heightened state of physical awareness and expression. It suits individuals who enjoy a challenge and want to explore the possibilities of peak performance.

BEGINNING DRAMA TEACHERS - TAKE NOTE! THE ROBIN THOMAS BURSARY IS AVAILABLE TO YOU!   http://www.dramaqueensland.org.au/robin-thomas-bursary.html

Hello Drama Teachers

Welcome to the REACH DRAMA INFO PAGE  and home of the Peninsula Drama Teachers Network.

We are a non-profit group of teachers working in a range of locations across the Peninsula. Previously this network has functioned via an email group which will continue to be used as we develop our skills in using this website. If you are not already on the email group for the Peninsula Drama Teachers Network please email coordinator Travers Toohey at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or phone Travers on 07 40 433 234.

The main aims of the PDTN are to facilitate Professional Development workshops for teachers in our remote region as well as providing collegial support and the sharing of resources and ideas. We are currently in the process of organising presenters for the student free day in July and your input is welcome. Why not try registering and sharing ideas on the forum? We can also use this site and the forum to post resources such as unit overviews or assessment which may be useful, particularly for those of us in the process of revising or adapting our current curriculum.

This page is in its infancy and future plans and ideas for its development are still being formed. We would like to develop further links to useful resources, theatre companies and other groups so please email suggestions for the page to Travers at the email address listed above. We currently network with JUTE (Just Us Theatre Ensemble) , QTC (Queensland Theatre Company), The Young Company, North Queensland Academy of Dramatic Art and others to seek production and workshop opportunities for teachers and students in our region.

I hope that we can all contribute to the ongoing support we give each other as professional colleagues and that this website can provide yet another tool for us to keep Drama education alive and well across the Peninsula region.

Don't forget you can make suggestions and ask questions via the forum of this website - so use it too!

Yours in Drama,

Travers Toohey
