This site has been designed to support and promote Quality Arts Education throughout Far North Queensland - from Tully to the Tablelands to the Torres Strait!

The site development was undertaken following REACH consultation meetings which took place in 2008 where teachers from across Primary and Secondary urban, rural and remote locations expressed a strong desire to have a "one stop electronic shop" where they could share ideas, resources and seek inspiration and support for developing quality arts programs and experiences in their schools.
The site will allow specialist teachers in each of the 5 Arts Strands as well as our PAN (Primary Arts Network) teachers to either focus on strand specific information or browse all sections of the Teacher portal for inspiration and insights.  In addition, REACH is supporting 6 Arts Strand representatives nominated from within our FNQ Arts Community to manage the home pages for each Strand where they will  highlight current pedagogy and practise to teachers as well as professional development opportunities that are offered by our Arts  professional networks.  We would like to thank each of these 6 Arts Strands representatives for taking on this important role:
  • Dance - Erika Jackson (Trinity Bay SHS)
  • Drama - Travers Toohey (Gordonvale SHS)
  • Music - Ann Marie Hancock (Trinity Bay SHS)
  • Media - Clyde Williams (Cairns SHS)
  • Visual Arts - Sally Donald (Bentley Park College)
  • Primary Arts Network - Narelle Brodie (Freshwater SS)

To begin sharing and joining in this exciting new Arts community, please sign up to participate in forum discussions and access other valuable shared resources, information and arts education news.

We hope you find this site helps to connect up geographically distant arts colleagues from across our great big beautiful region and that the use of technology helps to bridge distances and showcase and innovation in all of our schools.

REACH Leadership Team - Janelle Williams, Fiona Dunn, Madeline Savage.
